PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Up to 4 keys can be programmed, however, each key programming procedure must be completed within 30 seconds. 1. Unlock the vehicle using a key unlock button (The programming procedure will be blocked for 15 minutes if the vehicle was not unlocked using key unlock button). 2. Enter the vehicle and close the driver’s side door. 3. Turn the ignition switch ON and OFF to activate the programming mode. If you are using an infrared remote, point the transmitter at the infrared receiver which is located in rear view mirror. The transmitter needs to be within 6 inches of mirror. 4. Press and hold the key unlock button. 5. Within 10 seconds, press the key lock button 3 times while keeping the key unlock button depressed. 6. Release the key unlock button. [Ignore Steps 7 and 9 below for Models X5 and Z8 only ]. 7. LED should flash slowly for approximately 10 seconds. 8. The system should lock and unlock the vehicle to indicate that the programming is successful. 9. Repeat the process if the LED does not flash or the central locking system does not work. 10. Repeat steps 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 to program each of the remaining keys.
